Emily to star in “Sister”

The Wrap is reporting that Emily is attached to star in “Sister”.

Emily Blunt is attached to star in the psychological thriller “Sister,” which Kevin McCormick (“Gangster Squad”) is developing under his Langley Park banner, TheWrap has learned.

StudioCanal is financing development of the project, which is based on Rosamund Lupton’s bestselling novel “Sister.” The project is near and dear to Blunt, whose own sister, literary agent Felicity Blunt, represents the book, which has sold more than one million copies worldwide.

The London-based mystery follows Beatrice (Blunt) as she investigates the death of her younger sister Tess, whose death is ruled a suicide by police. Convinced that her sister was murdered, Beatrice sets out to uncover the strange events leading up to Tess’ death, though she may pay a terrible price for the truth.

Emily eyes Diana role?

The Daily Mail is reporting that Emily is interested in Stephen Evans’ adaption of “Closely Guarded Secret”.

Actress Emily Blunt has been looking at a script based on the memoirs of Diana’s former bodyguard, Ken Wharfe, Closely Guarded Secret. And, say insiders, she likes what she has seen.

Emily, best known for The Devil Wears Prada, won bouquets for her title role in The Young Victoria, on which Sarah, Duchess of York was a producer.

Intriguingly, Emily is understood to have turned down the role of Diana when she was offered it for Caught In Flight, the film about the princess’s love affair with London heart surgeon Hasnat Khan and which now stars Watts. The Wharfe film is being developed by The Madness Of King George producer Stephen Evans.

Ewan McGregor has been widely tipped to play the burly policeman with a script that its makers promise will bring the ‘authentic Diana’ to the big screen, based on the memories of the people who were around her.

‘I know Emily has read the script and she has said she likes it,’ a member of the production tells me.

Emily in “Your Voice In My Head”?

Looks like Emily has another project after “All You Need is Kill”.

A movie adaptation of Emma Forrest’s memoir “Your Voice In My Head” has been in the works for quite some time now. David Yates signed on to direct the film back in December of 2011 with Emma Watson and Stanley Tucci taking the lead roles soon after. But scheduling conflicts caused David Yates to drop out of the project last spring and with Yates out of the picture, looks like Emma Watson is on her way out too.

Stanley Tucci confirmed to Digital Spy that Emma Watson is no longer attached to the film with Emily Blunt having since replaced her. Plans for “Your Voice In My Head” to begin production later this spring remains to be seen as they are still searching for a director to helm the project. “Your Voice In My Head” is a candid tale about screenwriter Emma Forrest’s battle with self-destructive behavior and her life was subsequently saved thanks to sessions with a compassionate therapist (Tucci). Emily Blunt taking over for Emma Watson will give the film a different feel, but she’s undoubtedly a worthy replacement, in what sounds like promising material.

Emily rumoured for Ms. Marvel role

Rumours have surfaced online that Emily and Ruth Wilson are in competition for the rumoured role of Ms. Marvel in the 2015 Avengers Sequel. This information has reportedly come from the Daily Mail.

The Avengers sequel will reportedly feature the character Ms. Marvel, with Emily Blunt and Ruth Wilson currently competing for the role.

The Daily Mail is reporting that Emily Blunt and Ruth Wilson are in contention for the role of Ms. Marvel in Avengers 2 and that the role is being sought after by Hollywood’s hottest actresses. Emily Blunt can been seen in the hit thriller Looper with Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Bruce Willis, while Ruth Wilson will be starring in The Lone Ranger with Johnny Depp, Armie Hammer, and Helena Bonham Carter. Blunt obviously has more film titles to her name, which gives her an edge, and considering Looper is hitting it big with both the box office and critics, it may be just what she needs to edge out the competition.

Emily to star in “All You Need Is Kill”

According to Variety Emily is set to star as another soldier next to Tom Cruise’s character in the Doug Liman film adaptation of the Japanese novel by Hiroshi Sakurazaka.

Celeb Gossip – The action packed sci-fi film is described as a “groundhog day” type setting where a solider (Cruise) fighting in a war with aliens finds himself caught in a time loop of his last day after being killed. Throughout his training and experiences being relived each day, he becomes a better and more skilled soldier along the way.

The film which is set to hit theaters in 2013, is just one of the movies Miss Blunt seems to be taking over the box office with lately. Her comedic flick, “Salmon Fishing in the Yemen,” just hit theaters and her other newest comedy, “The Five Year Engagement,” is set to open at the Tribeca Film Festival this week.
